penny Get Penny
No bank login

A budget app that never asks for your bank password.

Most budgeting apps want you to hand your bank login to a data company so they can copy your transactions onto their servers. Penny doesn't, ever. Your spending still comes in easily, and it never leaves your device.

Three private ways to get your spending in

1. Your bank's own statement files

Every bank's website lets you download transactions as CSV, OFX or QFX. Drop the file into Penny: messy descriptions become clean names, duplicates are skipped and card payments stay transfers, not spending.

2. Plain words

Type “coffee 4.50 yesterday” or “+2400 salary”. Penny fills in the amount, place, category and date, in nine languages.

3. Bank alerts, on Android

Pick your bank apps once. When one shows a purchase notification, Penny reads it on your phone, tidies the shop's name and waits for your tap. It's optional and off until you turn it on.

Why skipping the bank link is better

  • No one else holds the keys. Bank linking gives a third party ongoing access to your accounts. Penny has none.
  • No copy of your finances on someone's servers. Penny has no servers. Your data is encrypted on your device.
  • Nothing to break. Bank connections drop and need re-linking all the time. Files and alerts just work.
  • It works everywhere. Any bank, any country, about 40 currencies.

And it still does the smart part

Safe to spend today, a plan for every paycheck, a cash-flow calendar, insights ranked by the money at stake, and a monthly checkup. See every feature.
